Made in Alaska

So I went to Alaska, and I know what you think ‘where’s that again’ this isn’t Canada Alaska this is Croydon Alaska. I know I know what you’re thinking ‘Croydon’.
Yes Croydon and on the borderline of Norbury and Thornton Heath was this small ice cream parlour called Alaska. I was informed about this” must see” place with all these wonderful deserts.
As I stepped foot into neon pink and green interior with my House of Holland pre s/s 12 maxi Mexican stripe dress. You would think I was part of the furniture. Booth seating arrangement you can notice a hint of the 1950’s vibe.
There was a classic variety of sundaes, banana splits and milkshakes.
I had gone for the crepe and I had noticed one with my favourite fruit ‘Strawberries’ hmm. I’m not a plate licker but all manor of etiquette would have gone out the window.
Not only was the service good and the presentation professional but the food was yum.
All worth the journey.

You’re Highness

Queen Elizabeth II never fails to disappoint me with her fashion sense. She always looks impeccable no matter where she is or what the weather is like. This week at The House Of Lords at the state opening at parliament she stepped out as graceful as ever.
With all the issues of the economy and the speech she had to bring.  The Queen still manages to carry the weight of her crown on her head.
Elizabeth II seems to inspire everyone but most of all those who are of older age. I always hear my mother and grandmother holding conversations of how such an amazing woman she is and of all the hats she must own (she could sneeze and it would be great LoL). I have so much respect for her iconic look. Her hairstyle, pearl earrings with a matching necklace and garments below the knee. The way she holds her handbag and the way she waves.

With the Diamond Jubilee coming up and everyone talking about the amount of days they have off, how wasted they can get and the organization of street parties. It will defo be a day you don’t want to miss, A DAY where England is proud to be British “Proper Mint”.

In the back of May British Vogue has a chart on all the colours the Queen has worn in the past year. And just at the Royal Wedding last year of William and Kate there’s no doubt that the betting shops have a bet going on to see which colour she will be wearing.  Keep your eyes peeled.

Don’t for get to learn the words to the National Royal anthem. “...God save Me and the Queen” LOL.

Your point is?

Roughly every  four  weeks I get my nails done (yes its true). And each time, I try to out do myself from the last. Its been about 2-3 years that ive been doing skyscraper nails. And I have gone from Barry M’s crackle design to diamante finger tips. Ive even had a nail piercing done by luxury fashion nail artist Sophy Robson.

This summer season trend is all about pastel candy colours. Imagine candy floss, sea side rock stick’s and gob stoppers, ummm.
And I can’t help to notice that celebs are sharping there kitty cat claws too. “Proper Mint”

Notice the smiley face on the middle  finger for those angry days.

Something in Common

Now that I’ve started to find the real me through the years. My trend style is developing each and every day from clothing to hairstyles.
Branching out from a pink fringe, green highlights to full head of green braids to orange (which I see as ginger).
There’s something I’ve always admire, something special about ginger haired people. When I was at school they were placed in a certain category as the “nerds”, and I never understood what was so great about making fun out of them.  I always thought that they were different and there are only a few people God picks to have this colour. But with me I can just go down to the shop to buy it LOL. TBH It was a task to find searching places from Greenford, Shepherd’s Bush to Harlesden (not even Harlesden had it with all their hair shops, disappointment!). The life saver was Dalston, I’m not surprised with a huge majority of trendy people living in the Fashion East.
When I first got it done I thought to myself that I looked like Daphne from Scooby Doo. On the way home from the hairdressers I was singing the theme tune LOL. Two days after I met Nicola Roberts who advice me” to stay ginger it’s the best!” (I trust her, she should know). Then I thought about Vivienne Westwood’s orange hair, and for the past few weeks two people have called me Wilma from the Flintstones.
And not only has it made me feel great about myself, it looks “Proper Mint”.
I’ve got ginger armpits now LOL.
Let me know how you feel about ‘Ginger Nuts’.

Come and Talk to Me

Welcome, in the words of High School Musical
‘This is the start of something new’.
While I sit here feeling a springtime cold coming along I’m trying to drink some orange juice to help get rid.
That’s just want I need the first few days in bed blogging it out.
